Georgia Fintech Academy and Robinson College of Business Host Second Annual Finance Innovation Showcase
Atlanta, GA — April 24, 2026 — The Georgia Fintech Academy, in partnership with Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business, successfully hosted the 2nd Annual Finance Innovation Showcase, bringing together top student talent and industry leaders for a high-impact, experiential learning event.
The showcase featured up to 60 students competing in teams across four tracks aligned to Robinson’s finance and fintech curriculum, including Foundations of FinTech, Financial Data Analytics, Banking & FinTech, and Blockchain & Business Disruption.
Students were challenged to develop and present solutions to real-world industry scenarios, including the future of credit unions, the application of AI and machine learning in financial services, and the impact of decentralized finance on traditional banking models .
Industry representatives participated as judges, evaluating teams on analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.
The event was made possible through the support of industry partners, including Slalom as Premier Sponsor and Georgia’s Own Credit Union as a Track Sponsor, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in developing the next generation of fintech talent.
“The Finance Innovation Showcase is designed to move beyond theory and give students the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in a setting that mirrors real-world expectations,” said Laura Gibson-Lamothe, Executive Director of the Georgia Fintech Academy.
The event reflects the continued collaboration between the Georgia Fintech Academy and Robinson College of Business to align academic programs with industry needs and provide students with direct exposure to career pathways in financial services.
