ATLANTA, GA – November 2025 – The Georgia Fintech Academy, a statewide initiative of the University System of Georgia, proudly announces that its Executive Director, Laura Gibson-Lamothe, has been named to the Georgia Trend 500 Most Influential Leaders list for the second consecutive year.
This recognition reflects the Academy’s growing role as a leader in fintech education, workforce development, and industry collaboration across Georgia and beyond. The Georgia Fintech Academy has connected more than 12,000 students across 26 public universities to education and career pathways in the rapidly evolving financial technology sector.
Based within Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, the Georgia Fintech Academy partners with leading global organizations including Visa, FIS, Truist, Corpay, Worldpay, US Bank/Elavon, InComm Payments, and others. These partnerships bridge the gap between academia and industry by preparing students for high-demand careers in payments, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital innovation.
