The Georgia Fintech Academy is a diversity talent development initiative for the fintech industry. Students from across the University System of Georgia participate in classes, events, and projects to prepare for jobs in the fintech industry.

Our Values

Diversity leads to innovation and growth. The Georgia Fintech Academy brings the most diverse set of students into the fintech industry than anywhere else in the United States.

History

The American Transaction Processing Coalition led a group of fintech companies in Georgia to ask the University System of Georgia Board of Regents to collaborate with the fintech industry to create an educational initiative focused on preparing diverse students for careers in fintech.

In 2019, the Georgia Fintech Academy of the University System of Georgia was born.

Today 23 institutions including Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and University of Georgia participate in the program every semester.

The 12 public fintech companies in Georgia alone generate $49 billion+ in revenues* and over $2 billion in venture capital was invested in Georgia early-stage fintechs from 2020-2022*.
 
21,000 people are employed by the top fintech companies in Metro Atlanta and 42,000* people overall with an additional 8,000 employed in Columbus, Ga (Global Payments, Aflac, and Synovus)
